Florida Governor addresses the spring breakers to get off the beach
The golden sands of Florida’s coast are considered as Mecca for tourism and are one of the greatest resources that help to generate about more than $40 billion every year. But the coronavirus pandemic disease has restricted the activities of party animals at Florida’s sun-scorched beaches. Now the crowd at Florida’s long coast has drawn harshest criticism over them. During a visit to COVID-19 mobile testing faculty, DeSantis has issued harshest criticism over the spring breakers having fun at the beaches.
“The party is over” Florida governor DeSantis addressed on Thursday. The republican said to implement the recommendations set by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about the masses who have got the air of not locking-down sun-splashed coastal region after the flood of college kids amid COVID-19
Governor Ron DeSantis has also ceased all the bars and nightclubs for any kind of activity for 30-days as masses of party animals were seen at Cleanwater beach in Florida.
“Many of the folks were spotted gathering at their alma mater, enjoying the company of friends there. We are not craving for things like that,” told DeSantis during the news conference on Tuesday.
“My words for the spring breakers are that party is now over in Florida,” DeSantis utter during an interview on “Fox @ Friends”. “You are not permitted to congregate on any beach in Florida. Our majority of picnic hubs like Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Cleanwater beach, are locked down entirely for the time being.”
He requested the tourists to visit these hotspots back next year when the situation will be better.
DeSantis said that the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state is 390 out of which the number of fatalities is eight. But these numbers of COVID-19 cases can increase because of the number of visitors who have entered and left the state.
DeSantis has not yet ordered the beach administration to close the beaches. He has been energetic on all the measures of coronavirus but his actions to the calls to shut down the beaches are in stark contrast to bellicose alerts and other governor’s acts about partying on beaches from Trump’s task force about the virus.
He did not shut down the beaches, claiming the option of how to deal with beaches on a case-by-case basis.
His foot-dragging to stop the spring breakers of partying also contrasts with the governors including Republican Mike DeWine of Ohio, Democrats Andrew Cuomo of New York and all other governors across the political spectrum.
Governors other than DeSantis are often tested by the tough time frequently like in hurricanes which often cause millions of people to suffer from physical damages.
This is the DeSantis' first test headed in the form of an intangible menace -- coronavirus -- that won't cause the physical mayhem that a hurricane can but is a primary threat to Florida's notably older population
He said, “Every beach in the state will have to follow the precautions against the congregation of more than ten people and asked that law enforcement agencies would implement these rules.”
The governor pronounces that as the corona outbreak is getting worse day by day, the visitors are abandoning their plans of traveling to state hotspots.
On the query about not shutting down the Cleanwater beach until Monday, Desantis said that images of bikini-clad revelers that are frolicking on the beach will soon vanish. He further responded to the footages of party animals that they are not constant all-round the state.
DeSantis is right that some metropolitans have reported the people taking into consideration the warnings and keeping themselves off the beaches and other partying hotspots.
He further said, “Despite the local decree, we will not permit you to gather like those viral footages and pictures that you have seen. This is not just something our government is going to legalize and all and sundry should work constructively to get the desired outcomes.”
The precedent of Desantis, Sen. Rick Scott, also gave a message to the spring breakers: “Party is over, Get off the beaches.”
“What are you pondering about frolicking on the beaches around all the folks that might have COVID-19 and by this way you can make harm the people you love the most like your father, mother, siblings, etc, so stop doing it now before it’s too late,” Scott said on CNN.
Scott said that people should take responsibility for their actions and conducts as he is also under quarantine after meeting up with the assistant of the Brazilian President whose test came positive for coronavirus.
Until you can understand how to entirely isolate individuals and the government should take responsibility and should be very clear to follow the guidelines set by the CDC.
Pictures raised howls of outrage and alarms showing the spring breakers having undaunted fun like 2019. The health experts raised warnings who feared that it would spread the virus and affect a lot of people and children. Comments from one of the party celebrators epitomized the recklessness of party animals.
Ohio resident Brady Sluder said, “if I get infected by a coronavirus, I get infected, I am not going to allow it to restrict me from partying.”
A member of administrative task agency Dr. Deborah Brix and President Trump at white house meeting about virus requested the people to strictly follow the instructions and guidelines.
“I hope that they will pay heed to our words and take them seriously. We have many concerns regarding their health that’s why we are advising the masses not to congregate. But they are still gathering on beaches, restaurants and many other public places” said Mr. President on Wednesday.
“They think that they are invincible warriors to triumph over the coronavirus. I don’t realize that whether they ever felt invincible during the time of their youth. I only want them to pay heed to our warnings and don’t go to public places because they could carry a lot of bad stuff home which may affect their grandmother and grandfather and even their beloved children and parents.”
